This thread brings back fond memories of our departed friend SEAFARER JOHN and his lovely wife GAYLE.
Early each Spring John would post progress reports of the shad-run up the Hudson. He loved that Roe !
I tried Shad and some of the sauted roe a couple of times during our Wisconsin visits, I really like the whole fish, but find the roe to be a 'take it or leave it' sort of sample item.
