... has closed! Apparently it was unexpected-- I've seen some mention of a fire on their Facebook page, but I can't find any confirmation of that. There's a for sale sign in front of the building. It's a sad, sad day in central Arkansas.

Oh, no. And I never had the opportunity to visit.

I found an article that explains things here

What a disappointment.  Sure can't find fault with the owners thinking, though.  When it's time, it's time.

I am so glad we got to experience Ed & Kay's as a group as part of the 2013 Roadfood Bus Tour.

I will leave the review up for a few more days so people can read what will be missed and then it will be archived.

Dang I hate to hear that....I was already working a plan to go by there on a bike ride back to Texas.  Lets hope someone else will pick up the reins and take it forward for another 30 years!!

Ditto.  Very bummed to hear this.

Ha!!  Thank you--I would so love to carry on the tradition of Ed & Kay's and maybe add a few things.  If it were closer to one coast or the other or closer to family, it would be very tempting.  As it is, it's in prime tornado country. " /> (I did look it up!)

And you're in prime earthquake country. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

But remember....one visit a year from buffetbuster and your 401k is fully funded!

Also...with 114k registered Roadfood users...think of the head start you've got on marketing!!!

Thank you for the welcome! And even more for finding the explanation. So disappointing-- no more PCP! :(

MH - True!  However, I haven't felt an earthquake here in years (knock on wood)--they just don't happen as frequently as tornadoes.  Thankfully.

CTD - you're right!!  I wish the concept would work out here, but then I couldn't afford it out here, either.  Plus Roadfooders don't come out here very often.

Oh, no. And I never had the opportunity to visit.

I found an article that explains things here

From the article:
"Could Ed and Kay’s come back? I wonder if someone had that thought about Ed and Alma’s back in 1982. Things change. What’s available right now is a turnkey operation for a young restaurateur who’d like to capitalize on a prime piece of real estate. I don’t know how much is being asked (Kay was still getting combobulated after the day’s events) but the number to call is (501) 672-6585. This could be your lucky day."
Any Takers???????????????????
