Our first attempt at poutine

Fresh cheese curds, a gravy from Quebec, and I think I'd use a different type of fry next time but we thought this would be good for holding gravy. Overall I was pleased:

Looks good bonk. I'll suggest that your house be put down as #3 on the Cincinnati crawl list. The poutine looks and sounds great. We may have to keep it a bit on the sly, however. I think WJ may decide that it isn't local indigenous food!

Was there anything special about the Quebec gravy or was it pretty similar to a standard American brown gravy?
 
I've only had poutine at 2 places but have decided that I really like it.
