Oh come on. If you had taken a poll and asked which people would be most likely to piss on someone's grave when they die, these two would be the landslide winners.

Originally you didn't need to be accepted, so you malcontents were late to the party.  Yes, eGullet did alter course but if you want a sense of what it was like, many of those who left went here.

The death knell for eGullet was when they began trying to block the forum members from meeting off-line.

Who said anything disparaging him? I was a member before it became a non profit plaything. Probably still am but I never look at the site. Compare it to LTH forum, which is a wonderful site. Or look at how Road food has devolved.

I remember seeing him on one of Rick Sebak's A Hot Dog Show episodes.  Might have been the original one.

I dont think anyone was crapping on a corpse - the issue (as I read the posts in question) was with the policies of EGullet, which the man co-founded, not with the man himself.
 
Aditionally, according to Perlow's blog entry, the man wasn't even associated with eGullet anymore at the time of his death

All of what you wrote is true. However, decorum would normally dictate that one not use another's death to defecate on that which said individual has built.
