I worked too many brunches in my lifetime.  A team of wild horses could not drag me to any brunch, anywhere, any time.  I'll have an English muffin at home.

Actually, after Sunday's breakfast at The Golden Lamb I wouldn't mind going back for Brunch. I had the house made corned beef hash with two poached eggs and country skillet potatoes. But I really want to try the roasted venison sausage omelet with caramelized onions, boursin cheese and the potatoes.

Wouldn't it be a pleasant treat to enjoy a good one from the other side of the table?

It's a buffet. Considering that lleechef feels about buffets the same way I do I seriously doubt that she'd go near anything like that, even if it wasn't brunch.

Our Easter Brunch is going to be great!  On Saturday, I will make a large Italian Easter Pie and it will be put in a picnic basket on Sunday, after church.  We will be dining on the pie, fruit, wine, and lemonade at  a small picnic ground at Gettysburg National Park.  After the touring and monument readings and other t hings we choose to do, dinner will be at one of my favorite places; The Dobbin House.  We are all looking forward to it.

Sorry, but nope.  It looks lovely but I just can't face another brunch.

I think for Easter Brunch we'll move from the backroom eating space to the diningroom.....and most likely not a buffet

I'm just learning about Easter Pies. From what I've observed, it looks like a form of a Calzone. Is that correct?
Just read the History of the Dobbin House. Fantastic place!

Pizzagaina is totally different from a calzone.  A calzone is kind of like a folded over pizza.  Pizzagaina has prosciutto, salami, capicolla, many eggs, ricotta and mozzarella baked like a pie with top and bottom pastry crusts.
It's not a dish that my northern Italian family ever made.  I ate it once when a friend's mother made it and I wasn't crazy about it.  It was dense and dry.  I would like to try it again.

The recipes I've seen for Easter Pie include a lot of sugar - seems like a dessert pie, but I'm sure there are many variations of the savory one as well.

This is where we're having dinner. The star ledger today even had an article...they're billing it as Easter with Norman Rockwell. They have his giant canvas of Yankee Doodle Dandy there...we've eaten there many times, and the food is quality...and the buffet looks tasty and classy. Will let you know!

I just took my Italian Easter Pie out of the oven..............it looks fantastic!  It is over 3 inches high so i am sure that there will be leftovers after our picnic tomorrow.
