On a trip that I thought would be a continuation of my search for great barbecue, I headed off again to North Carolina, and also returned to Savannah, my first trip back since my wonderful experience there in January, 2012. This trip turned into something different than my barbecue trip last August. It turned out to not be all about barbecue, and I enjoyed many of the other meals as much as or more than the barbecue. After landing in Raleigh, I made my way back to Dudley, North Carolina, where once again I had the great pleasure of experiencing this utterly fantastic eastern North Carolina barbecue and indescribable fried chicken.
