I request of the Chair a showing of hands- a vote- on this simple question.

A. Should the nefarious and devilish cheating self- declared winner of the Jumble contest be allowed to keep his ill-gained prize?

B. Should the unselfish and innocent Seafarer be rightfully declared the winner with his scripture inspired entry: RECOILTH?

All right (and left) thinking Roadfooders will have no trouble in making the correct decision - the choice between devine inspiration and a voice from the netherworld...

In the words of the great Roberto Duran, "no mas, no mas!"

I hereby reliquish my title and all that comes with it. I am not worthy. I shall step aside. I shall bid adieu to my moment in the sun for I have never, ever, ever in my more than four decades on this planet witnessed a greater stroke of utter creativity than seafarer john labeling himself as "unselfish and innocent."

I've just recieved an informative email from dear clothier, regarding his new employment and the changes in his life. I-95's fantastical posturing over Clothier's activities now are all lies.........pure lies!

His long time empathy and close affiliation with PETA mixed with his good fashion sense, has inspired him to create his own corporation: "Puss in Boots Clothiers and Habedashery", a company dedicated to serving our animal kingdom friends. Already this has become Forbes Magazine Top Ten Best Bizarre New Entreprenuerial Ideas of the Year 2004.

Clothier's Puss in Boots plans on making it's Paris Catwalk debut this fall with some toothsome yet practical accoutrements....such as these:

.....oh la la....for those sultry summer nights.

And an example of it's fine haberdashery:

An audience member goes in raptures at the new line in a preview show held at the Ypsilanti ,Michigan City Pound:

Employee benefits at Clothier's business, mirror the benevolences of the Ben and Jerry's whole person corporate approach:

Employees are treated with weekly massages, biofeedback, pedicures and manicures and other stress reducing measures:

Free Lunches are provided for by the company, thus promoting well being, nutrition and camaraderie amongst employees:

Motivational meetings encourage productivity, cohesiveness and formations of common goals:

RE: Clothier Sends Greetings... 2004/07/25 17:05:54
After the 5 oclock corporate whistle blows, employees and management alike are found letting off steam and furthering deep, workplace friendships at the company's own bar and grille, "The Watering Bowl"

Homeland Security measures have not been forgotten here either. "Puss in Boots" has bragging rights to the best swat team security specialists in the national corporate arena:

Our friend, Clothier has spared no expense in the well being of his employees. Truly inspirational.

Clothier realizes that this is a risky adventure and a bit out of the mainstream and that if this venture fails he's likely to be a victim of this sad ending:

.............but gifted with the ability to save his derriere' if kitty et al couture doesn't catch on, Clothier has formulated a contingency plan of branching into accessibility products such as this one on the drawing board now:

All in all, Clothier seems to have his life on a productive and happy path........

Clothier is a figment of i-95s imagination. He was, or is , the alter-ego ( or perhaps, the doppleganger) of i-95. But don't worry i-95 is not dangerous to anyone but himself, and if he uses these pages to carry on a conversation with himself, we're happy to oblige him - he is, at heart, a pretty good citizen.

But, what I don't understand is his recent undeserved attacks on the Scots. I mean, just because we think of all Scandanavians (from one of which it appears i-95 is descended) as dumb squarheads and worse, is no reason to launch an assault on those of us who don't always wear underpants and proudly carry some Scottish genes in our bloodlines.

Cheers, John

OK, chickens, I'll answer. "clothier" was three things:

The moniker of a former RoadFood.com poster whom suddenly disappeared under "mysterious circumstances" earlier this year.

Is the name by which, if uttered on this very board, skirts precariously toward the sixth bullet (a cleverly crafted metaphor?) of this site's Welcome Basket greeting (http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2745).

And, because of his magnet-like ability to both attract and repel other posters with his prolific posts, "clothier" was, undoubtedly, the Patrick Henry of this virtual arena.

Now you know...the rest of the story. Good day.

My God, while I was actually composing my sincere post above as to the identity of "clothier" for the benefit of this site's newest posters, I have sustained an unprovoked and across the bow hit from the direction of New Paltz.

In rising above as much and to show that HERE is where the healing begins, I offer to seafarer john a reminder of the age-old Scottish / Scandinavian joke:

Q. Why don't Swedish men wear kilts?

A message came thru the ether yesterday that has set me to contemplating profound ideas.
The philosophic message (was it from the elusive Clothier himself?): "...life could lousy, life could be O.K., life could be better."

"Life could be lousy". The return of Prohibition.

"Life could be O.K.". Allowed only one Martini each week.

"Life could be better". The Perfect Martini and pulled pork BBQ are joined in an ideal marriage.
