It could be any of the four No. 1 seeds, and there are a couple of No. 2 seeds that might make it -- Texas and Ohio State.

In the Women's tournament, all of the No. 1 seeds, plus Tennessee, a No. 2 seed, have shots.

I have no real loyalty to one of the top picks, But Iowa and Steve Alford are looking good to me at this point.

The three schools we usually watch--

Louisville- fell apart during the season, after some big wins over 'no-competition'in early season games. Pitino thought he had a solid team... He was wrong.

Kentucky-- You never know which team will show up to play, the klutz's or the NBA ??? They need to check the Police record before offering stardom to a player. Lots of questions about them this year.

Indiana- Had a good start and finish, but their regular season looked like I was the best player on the team. Mike Davis is done, and it is time for the school to get a new look to its team.

Texas has a national championship in Fottball football already. Can they win the basketball title too?

(I say no, but then I don't think the Dukies are going to do it either!)

Scorereader... I am not much of a FOTTBALL fan so I will just accept your recommendation of Texas as a great FOTTBALL school.

I do know that I have zero skills in predicting the outcome of the 2006 March madness NCAA Tourney... I said IOWA a few posts above this one... and IOWA got killed in the FIRST ROUND by Northwestern State.

    Since I think I hold the record for typo's in a single post, I certainly hope I haven't ignited a war !!

How about Bradley? First they took down Kansas, and then they knocked off Pitt (my team). They looked good winning both games, beating teams that were playing hard.

I think it will end at Memphis, but you know what my opinion's worth... they decided to play the game despite what I think.

George Mason beat two of last year's final four teams, inlcuding the National Champ.
I'm hoping they can again defeat Wichita State and move onto the Elite 8. Why not? they're practically playing a home game! I live in DC and got my master's at George Mason U. I'm hoping to get tickets to the the game. If I can afford it. There's no re-sale laws in DC, so people who hold tickets can sell them at whatever they can get.

A very good friend attended George Mason. He was as happy as I have heard him after Sunday's game. His only complaint was that he could not get tickets for next weekend's regionals.

I know the following info is not in your top ten list of need to know but the Lady Vols has been in the sweet sixteen every year the tournament has been in existence which is 25 and the elite 8 for 21 years and has won the national championship 6 times.

They advanced to the elite 8 today but beating Rutgers.

    GO MASON GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm completely in shock. I'm hoping to get to the school bookstore to pick up some Final Four T-shirts and mugs and stuff.

That game against UConn reminded me of the North Carolina game. They got down early, trying to figure out a way to combat the bigger sized players and talent, then inched their way back using solid defense and a combination of inside and outside shooting.

Mason gave Wichita St. a clinic on how to drop the three pointer. (By penetrating and then kicking out ot the open man.
They did the same thing at the start of the 2nd half to tie it up.
And then, just great board play by out rebounding UConn!
And, let's not forget, it was UConn who had to tie it up down the stretch in the 2nd half, and who was unable to throw down the three in a last ditch last second effort. Mason rocked UConn in overtime. Out hustled, out rebounded and moved the ball better in the front court.

Bring on the Gators! Win or Lose, the wins against MSU, UNC and UConn should give them a strong final standing. Maybe they'll become the Gonzaga of the East now!

BTW. the spread on the GMU vs. UF is 5-1/2 Gators.

I guess GMU is making Vegas a bit nervous. That's not many points for an SEC team vs. a CAA team. The UConn spread was 8-1/2.
