Has anyone come up with a marinade to add to water while warming Hot Dogs on a cart?

There was a place in my area when I was a kid that boiled its dogs in beer I think it was called Lums. Maybe on the Berlin turnpike?

I've always thought that marinade was what you soaked the object in before cooking... besides simmering the dawgs in beer you could try a couple cloves of garlic in the water or someother combo of flavorfuls.. This is an interesting idea and may need some further thought

Hello JoJo, When I do brats I simmer them in beer with half of a chopped up onion then grill them. I too will try it with hot dogs then we can compare.

Throw some of the same brand Polish in with your hot dogs. The spices and garlic from the Polish will be just enough to enhance the flavor of the hot dogs. Near the end of the day, the dogs cooked in this water are the ones that taste the best. CSD
