I could be wrong, but "hot relish" could be a misnomer for "hot pepper relish" such as Howard's: http://www.amazon.com/Howards-Hot-Pepper-Relish/dp/B0002XICM8

Wickles makes a Southern version: http://www.amazon.com/Howards-Hot-Pepper-Relish/dp/B0002XICM8

However, I'm only guessing. I've never seen a hot pickle relish, though it would be relatively easy to make.

In what part of the country are you located?

Around my neck of the woods, hot relish is sold in virtually every supermarket, a Sub/Hoagie withh everything, would mean hot pepper relish along with the LTM or oil and vinegar. It goes great on Dogs.

In NJ, Hirium's use to have hot relish. It was a tinged redish color that I suspect was from catsup. It had chopped bits of pimento and red pepper flakes. It was not that spicy though. I don't know if they still have it today.

I guess you could get some recipies for relish and come up with a great veriosn that would become a signiture relish for you. But, it will be a lot of work.

Shelly, when we first started, someone here in Massachusetts who does the same thing recommended we have hot peppers, or "hots" as they're called here. Basically it is hot pepper seeds with a red pepper relish. Restaurant Depot sells it cheap! Comes in a glass 1 gallon jar for about 4 bucks, always was in our condiment tray and went like crazy!

Shelly, if you call HEINZ at 1-800-255-5750 and give them your zip code, they may be able to direct you to a store that sells it in your area. In turn, the manager may be able to give you a lead on a distributor if you need a case or more.

I think you'll like this product. I love it.

I've not made this one yet so I can't vouch for it. You might try adding some chopped Jalapenos if it's not hot enough. Let me know how it turns out. FBM
