I send "southern care packages" to several friends who've enjoyed Dukes while visiting us here in Virginia.

Duke's mayo is da bomb! But I have to warn you..once you get used to eating Duke's you will not like other brands of mayo at all-on your sandwiches, in your coleslaw, or your potato salad.

I certainly like good mayo. I wish I had tried more varities. I saw Dukes today and I almost bought a small jug. Most of what I have bought has been sorta cheap but good. I think I will venture out. I have been simplifying my life with vehicles, guns and other things. I am improving my residence and I will improve the quality of my simple food. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

"a wonderful mustard sauce and sandwich spread..." I definitely know what that is. No wonder it's "famous".

Hmm ... I guess I'm weird then because I much prefer Hellmann's to Duke's. Duke's isn't bad but I grew up on Hellmann's so it's hard for me to switch loyalties.

I just might to add that I got a case of Vernors Ginger Ale the other day from Ann! I could get it all day when I lived in Fla, but here where I live in South Carolina, it simply is no where to be found. Barter is still alive and well here on Roadfood! Thanks Ann!

Roosy Next time you are in Wilmington. check out Harris Teeter, I know I've seen it there. And I join the Duke's lovers. There is an article in the spring issue of Taste of the South about Duke's http://www.tasteofthesouthmagazine.com/currentissue_spring07.htm

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Fresh tomatoes need only a salt shaker while you are eating them standing in your garden just after you have cut same from the vine. If the spouse wants any, give her the utensils and the shaker. 'Nuff said.
