microsoft streets and garmin nuvi 350

Can this give alerts when near a listed restaurant. I have the poi on the nuvi but it made no sounds when around locations. If I have gps on laptop and poi in microsoft trips will it give audible alerts?

Check your GPS unit to see how it handles POIT for an audible alert. MSFT Streets and Trips does not have an audible alert, however, it does have a visual flag.

I have the garmin nuvi 350 . What is poit? I have it set for audible but that will not make sound when coming up on restaurants. I read that the file needs to have something in it to work. Do you know what that would be. file name and @#.
