Dixies Hott Chicken was great! I had a leg quarter xtra hot, they have mild - med - hot - xtra hot, and it was incredible. The crust is light and VERY nice and crispy. The heat doesn't hit you right at first but spreads out after a few seconds. The xtra hot I believe is about as hot as I would want, comparable to hot at the other joints.

They said they make all their sides and desserts from scratch and it shows. I had the mashed potatos and turnip greens which were both very good. They also serve breakfast.

Highly recommended, at least as good as Boos or Princes. I'm going back for lunch today.

That's quite a recommendation. I guess I'll have to try it for lunch tomorrow. I hope it's that good. I only live about 3 miles from there.

LOL! That is priceless! And the chicken looks AMAZING. Man, I'd love to try some!

That was funny and I agree that Bobby Flay's expression was out of sight. I can not tolerate anything that hot but I sure do like it slightly spicy.

I cannot wait until my next trip to Nashville where I will try Poverty Pete's favorite place. Poverty has got to remind me which one is is and where it is located.I may drive through there after our trip to Owensboro for the Moonlite BBQ place which is "The Mayor's" favorite place. I may Saturday overnight in Nashvillle just for the chicken.

Went to Dixie's a few times, the chicken was excellent each time. But the service was pretty slow the later times. It took us 2 hours for lunch, it was about an hour and a half before the first person got any food.

Obviously you can't do that very often. I hope they open back up and get their staff issues sorted out.

Just found a Boos menu, wish they would give it another go as well.

Has anyone heard anything about Lorrie Morgan's place? Weren't they going to reopen on West End or some such?

I stopped for lunch today at Prince's. It wasn't very good. Greasier than normal, and the pieces were on the small side. I ordered mine "hot", and I suppose it was, but not like it used to be. For $1.65, you get a couple tablespoons worth of potato salad. I sure do miss Mr. Boo's.

                I miss Boo's too Pete. I like Prince's, but I loved Boo's.

If you are in New York you may not have to travel to Nashville to try this regional dish.  Looks as though there's a place in Bed Sty that has it on the menu.  The menu at their other Bistros look good as well.

Well, The Chicken Shack closed down here.  He's still doing catering and plans to hit the hot chicken festival, but the restaurant is no more.

I did stop by Hot Stuff Spicy Chicken and Fish on Bell Rd. the other day.  I got a catfish sandwich, medium.  And some wings, hot.

The catfish was great, good spice, very crispy and cooked just right.

The wings were disappointing to say the least.  I have no idea what they actually did to them, but they were soggily caked with something.  They were just a wet mess.  It didn't even seem as hot as the catfish was on top of that, and was too salty.  I couldn't even finish them which should say something.  I should have taken a picture, but I was just kind of disgusted at that point.

It might be worth stopping by again to try and figure out what the deal was.  If they could get the chicken like the fish, it would definitely be worth eating.

Do you have the address for Dixie's Hott Chicken/ Couldn't find a web site for them.

Those posts were from like 5 years ago.  Dixie's didn't last too long unfortunately.  The chicken was good, but they had some other issues.
