During two vists, a week apart in November 2004, the service staff seemed confused, the food either cold or undercooked, cloth napkins now paper, and the place seemed, well, dirty and run down. Worst of all no waffels! I'm sorry to hear about the Camilla Grill. Watching the original staff grill a piece pecan pie and cover it with vanilla ice cream, or prepare a great chocolate malt, or grill a fabulous cheeseburger, was all part of the atmosphere. There was always a line out the door and a then wait inside.

I am very sorry to hear about the Camelia grill. One of my favorite spots, My meal was Oyster's Mosca at Mosca's in the sbuburbs or a muffaleta at Central Grocery

Galatoires for Gumbo or Turtle Soup, and then a traditional Creole entree. Finish with beignets and chicoy coffe at Cafe du Monde. Second everything and every item you mentioned Zin Chef, but then NOLA is a foodies dream. You almost can't miss there. Food is such a passion in the city. QFan Bonita Springs, FL

Mother's Po-Boy with debris, with all due respect to the many wonderful Creole dishes I had in the Quarter, may have been one of the most memorable dishes I had on my visit. Nothing fancy, but REALLY good!

OK those may be ok, but here's what I would be sure I tried Breakfast-Mothers or Camelia Grill Lunch-Acme Oyster, Felix, or back to Mother;s for the best Poor Boy ever Dinner-Commanders Palace and all others are good, but my all time favorite, that I never miss when I'm in NO is Mr. B's. Everything is great, but be sure to start with the best BBQ Shrimp in the world.

I'd give my nod to Commander's Palace. I have eaten just about everywhere there is to eat in New Orleans, and Commander's is the best, if you want a fancy, sit-down meal. If you're doing lunch, or want something more casual, then go to Uglesich's. Emeril's places are OK, but not as good as numerous others in town.
