oozing roquefort burger - Good Stuff Diner NYC

Here in NYC at Good Stuff Diner on W. 14th St, they advertize an "Oozing Roquefort Burger." I love roquefort, and want to order it, but the "oozing" part turns me off.... Would it do the same for you?

No. Cheese can ooze and be wonderful. Other items, not so much. No oozing tomato or pickle.

Quite the opposite, the oozing description is a plus for me. When I make a blue cheese burger I usually take the cheese out of the fridge and let it soften, then mash in some butter so it takes on the consistency of a spread. However, I suspect the NYC price would be a turn off for this country boy.

yeah the whole oozing cheese thing always works for me...anything that oozes cheese (except Pizza the Hut from Spaceballs) is a good thing.

Ok, Roquefort cheese to me shouldn't ooze as it is a dry aged cheese usually. Mixed with any other ingredients then you might have an ooze factor. I have mixed it with a little garlic mashed potato and stuffed it into filet mignon, I have used it mixed with butter as someone else suggested to top baked potatoes. It is great when added to a Waldorf salad!! In most of these applications, the cheese stands up and by itself will not melt redily. David O

The local grocery sells bacon-blue cheese burgers, though the ingredients are mixed into it. The burger you are talking about, the Juicy Lucy, is the best known version and there is a thread somewhere... Here is my recent attempt. Needs a tomato... mark
