I would describe it as fair. I live in Kingsport, TN in the middle of Pals country. They do have a unique item called a sauceburger w or wo cheese. It is a small burger with a very tangy sauce and basically meat and bread. They have hotdogs which come standard with chili. They also have a couple of other Hamburgers one called a "Big Pal" which comes with LT mayo and onion standard. They also have a sliced chicken sandwich and a chipped ham sandwich which I've never tried. Their fries are pretty good and come standard with seasoned salt. The tea is very good but the milkshakes are pretty forgettable.
I know there are other here who have a much higher opinion of Pals then I do. I say if you're in the area give it a try you might really like it but I wouldn't make a special trip.

You might want to check and read through the attached thread. I am not sure that they are the best but they have won numerous awards for their quality.

      Please read Fred Saucemans thoughts.

That is a pretty accurate description of the menu. What really sets Pal's apart from similar fast food restaraunts is the quality and customer service. I've been eating at Pal's since I was a child and I've never had a bad experience or a mixed up order.
