The pepperoni roll on today's page looks great. Tomaro's is ok if you're in Clarksburg, but the best ones come from the original. . . Country Club Bakery in Fairmont, WV.
That's my experience and my wife's, who is a Fairmont native.

Has anyone ever discovered pepperoni rolls outside of WV?

I'd never heard of pepperoni rolls before Roadfood.

I did a quick glance at the picture, and for a moment, I thought Roossy was at the runzas again.

We enjoyed wonderful freshly baked pepperoni rolls at Freddy's Pizzeria in Cicero, IL while on the Great Chicago Italian Beef Tour. Thanks to a recommendation from Saps.

We used to get a pepperoni/cheese bread at the ShopRite grocery(i think) in s.jersey. i've made something similar to the frontpage picture using popout dinner rolls. Flatten the dough add some strips of pepperoni and cheddar, roll and bake.. a quick/easy snack or bbq hordevour(sic)

I'd had something very similar (with some mozzarella) from an Italian bakery in a Detroit factory neighborhood - this was over 25 years ago, couldn't tell you where, wish I could get another one!

In Great Bridge (a part of Chesapeake Va) there was a small donut shop that had pepperoni bread. Just pepperoni and mozz wrapped in fresh bread dough and baked. Unbelievable...and the bear claws were pretty amazing too. Later, he started cutting them open and stuffing them with an array of products...sausage for example. Outstanding.

I haven't found a place locally that makes this but there is a donut shop across town that says they have a sausage roll. Sounds similar to the P roll but unfortunately for me, I haven't made it into the store early enough to find one of these elusive rolls still available. The last three times i heard "last guy bought the rest of them".

I think I'll hit them when they open around 5 am tomorrow and see if they really actually make these or if it's just a "menu legend" that they use to attract dopes like me who buy some donuts and dream of getting up early enough to one day get that roll.

When I worked at Baldino's Giant Jersy Subs in Macon, GA we made them every day. Hunk of bread dough, splash of meatball sauce, 2 slices Provolone and 3 slices pepperoni, roll and bake with the bread for the subs. (also good with ham) Gosh I miss that place. It finally bit the dust last year...

No cappicola in Middle GA any more unless a new place has it. That's why I like Jimmy John's up here in MI, because they have an Italian Sub that is very similar to what I remember from my favorite places as a kid.

Maybe. It's in a small shopping center at the intersection of centerville trpk and mt pleasent rd.

I see that there appears to be a bakery at that address now but I couldnt say if it is the same one since I cant recall the name and the name I found doesnt ring a bell.
