I seem to be having a problem placing my vending cart on the sidewalk in my city. Does anyone know of any tricks to this or is it just the decision of the building owner to allow you to place my cart. Seems like I might have a problem getting the good spots that I think will be bringing in the money. Hotdog Matty

Yes I did and have been doing so for over a year now ! I know alot more now than I did a year ago but I was just wondering if anyone knew something about this that I did not. I am from Scranton Pa. This is just alittle more research that I am doing and I do have a lot of locations that I can go but some places seem harder to get or find the right person to get that permission. Thanks for your input..... Matt

Location, Location, Location....thats what they say...In my area there are three hot dog vendors all within a 1/2 mile in an industrial area. They have the market cornered, because there is nothing else around. 2 of them even do breakfast...Best of Luck, we could all use it in this economy!

In Denver, on public property like a sidewalk, you need a "right of way" permit. Public works supplies these and they have a list of available spots. The cost is reasonable $300 a year. Private areas are entirely up to the owner of the property's discretion. Although you'll still probably need all the health and business licenses. See a spot that looks good. Approach the city. If it's not public they may know who owns it. They may also (if they are so inclined to relay this) know of some spots you haven't thought about. Be as nice to your city workers as you can...they probably have alot to offer if they feel like it.

Go to Dunder MIfflin. Ask for Michael or Dwight

might want to look into the regulations concerning "mobile food trucks" here push carts pretty much fall under the same by-law in that you can park it on the street for 1 hour then you have to move it 300 feet every hour after that. This way you do not need a "bathroom agreement" or the problems of finding a business that will let you park it on the property. This is what I do But of course I don't move it. I have the food cop's stop by and there has not been a problem with it (yet)
