pre-cooked mcdonalds

The Wall Street Journal also reported Tuesday that McDonald's is testing precooked meat patties that would be reheated in restaurants instead of cooking them on-site. The report cited company discussions with franchisees. Precooking burgers would virtually eliminate the health risk of bacterial contamination caused by undercooked meat. McDonald's also is reportedly considering pancakes that are prepared and frozen elsewhere, then reheated in restaurants. That would eliminate the time-consuming task of making them from batter at every restaurant. Ebeling called the reported changes about meat patties and pancakes speculation. The changes come as McDonald's worries about the taste of its food.

It sounds like it is going to taste as bad or worse than the junk they now serve' and call food.

And school lunch programs! It's stated that most of the meat has already been eaten. Isn't the recall a bit late then?

You get the feeling McDonald's executives just don't care about quality and freshness anymore. I'm guessing half of them weren't even born when Ray Kroc was still actively involved.

Maybe McD's should just take the pre-cooked burgers & pancakes and toss them in the garbage can, saving customers the agony of having to do it themselves.

Us the consumers want cheap, and fast. Quality is nowhere in the equation for the average fast food customer. You can have cheap, you can have fast, you can have quality. You just can't have all 3.

That's odd. I'm 65 years old, have been eating at MD's all over the U.S. for a long time and have never seen anyone toss their food into a garbage can?

For some reason i just don't think the food at McD's tastes bad at all. Now i wouldn't go there for dinner, but i've been known to hit the drive-thru during my 30 minute lunch break. Kinda hard to hit the road for a mom & pop with that time frame!

Nowadays hardly anyone knows how good a McDonald's hamburger could taste and did taste when Ray Kroc and the rest of the original management were running things. Their something for everybody menu of today makes fresh an impossibility. And even a hamburger built with a 10 count hamburger patty will taste far better when that patty comes right off the grill than out of a holding cabinet.
