putting on the ritz

I love Ritz crackers- have ever since I was a little kid in joisey in the 60's and carol reed a weather lady on a ny staion advertised them- anyone remember her?
Anyway those from ny - nj -conn have certainly at least heard of longtime WOR radio host Joan Hamburg's Ritz cracker stuffing

    My Aunt used to make a "mock apple pie" from a Ritz box recipe.  First time we tried it we really thought it was an apple pie.

    I've made that "mock apple pie". It was really good but wouldn't fool a real apple pie lover. Being on a gluten-free diet, Ritz crackers are one of the things I miss most, both in my cooking and with tomato soup, peanut butter, just butter, and many other ways :>(.

    Roasted vegetable Ritz with rolled anchovy fillets and capers or anchovy paste. And of course Ritz Crackers with peanut butter (Krema brand).

    A little trivia for all youze Ritz Lovers:
    National Biscuit Company (now Nabisco) introduced Ritz Crackers for 19 cents a box in November, 1934 in Philadelphia and Baltimore. They were an immediate success.
    The company produced over 5 billion of them in 1935, which worked out to 40 crackers for every man, woman and child in the U.S.
    They are still a best seller today.

    Hey phishmonger, I, too, am a Ritz loving gluten free person. Try Glutino cheese crackers brushed with a tiny bit of melted butter and sprinkled with a little salt. It's not the same, but it's as close as I can get.

    My parents used to use them as a breading for their Italian Chicken Cordon Bleu (mozz and salami inside), and I have a friend who mixes crushed Ritz, clams, and mayo to make a really good hot dip.

    Ritz covered in crunchy peanut butter with a marshmallow on top. Stick it under the broiler (or toaster oven) until the tops of the marshmallows toast. Salty, sweet, gooey, crunchy goodness.

    My Bride takes a Ritz Cracker, puts a slice of Pepperoni on it, a piece of cheese, sticks it in a toaster oven until the cheese softens---Wolla! A little snack
