question for California residents Thu, 03/29/07 5:02 PM (permalink)
I had a discussion with a co-worker today about fast food joints and he told me the name of the hot dog chain in California is "Tail N Pup."
I told him that was a fictional place and it was really called Weinerschnitzel (sp). Who's correct?

For years there was a hot dog stand in Hollywood, believe it was on San Vicente, called Tail O the Pup. It was shaped like a hot dog and can be seen in many films as an establishing shot or second unit stuff. I ate there many times and preferred it over Pink's by a longshot.

But there is no chain by that name. There is the Weinerschnitzel chain, formerly called Der Weinerschnitzel .

We have a few of these chains in New Mexico. Can't say I've ever been brave enough to try one though.

Not lack of bravery as much as good sense on your part. Stay away, stay far away.
