questions about kids meals

What did McDonald's kid meals have before happy meals?
What were the Mcdonaldland characters called , Mayor Cheese , captain mcfish I think, the big mac cop , and the french fries guys? The only characters I see anymore besides Ronald are Hamburglar, and Grimace.
Who were the other characterrs in the old Burger King ads with the king who would twist his ring to do magic? I remember Duke of Doubt and the robot but can't remember the others.

"What did McDonald's kid meals have before happy meals?" In the 60s, we didn't need no stinkin' kiddie meals.  It was hamburgers, cheeseburgers, doubles, fries shakes and drinks.
