restoring exterior of stepvan

im just finishing up the last few things on the truck its an 89 gmc grumman p60 and the aluminum is oxidized also where the old lettering was you can still see even after it was taken off like the glue is still there or it oxidized alot less. Since I wont be able to afford a wrap til the earliest maybe next year how do I go about restoring the aluminum to a like new state soda blast?wetsanding?

Theres a 3M eraser wheel that does great for taking off old lettering glue (I have an old Snap On Truck-same song and dance).

As for refinishing you might have to do a very light sanding in order to get the oxidation off then buff it from there to your desired finish.  That way it will all be even and clean.

On a side note how did those propane brackets work for ya?

ok thanks guys ill look into it. They said the brackets were in stock than after waiting for a month they than told me they were special orders I cancelled the order fabricated my own bracket because I couldnt wait and just the other day the stupid brackets came and now they wont accept a return because they are special orders even though I have an email confirming that the order was cancelled so im going to have to dispute the charge. Looks like they would work ok ill post pics of the bumper I made later today

I like that.  Almost like a cross between a step bumper and loading platform.Wish I could/would have done that with mine!  Did you buy the bumper or have it made?

have you been to an old AirStream buffer shop? those guys work magic with almost and substance on aluminum.
ask a local RV shop who they recommend.
