In the '80s, Bar None was my favorite candy bar. Then they changed the recipe, and it was terrible. Then they discontinued the product. I really miss the original recipe Bar None!

In my opinion, they aren't the same one we are thinking of. These don't have nuts, and I think the US Bar None had some kind of chocolate layer inside the wafers too. And these don't even look like wafers, anyway. A wafer is not the same as a cookie.

I tried to find some way of ordering the candy, but couldn't. I had to just send them an email asking them how I could order it. With the same makers and similar name, I'd still want to try it. I'll post back with any progress.

Not in any way, shape or form other than made by the same manufacturer.

I was going to say that! The Nestle Crunch Crisp is very close to the Bar None. The first time I had one that was my first thought. I love the Bar None and it's the closest thing out there.

For those who are still lamenting the Bar None, Nestle has a new bar called the Crisp Crunch bar ... it's not real chocolate, but it does have some crispy wafers and cream and a chocolatey coating (no nuts).

I didn't like it that much (I would have preferred some real European Nestle chocolate on it). I think I'll stick with the Chocolatier sticks.

i'm not certain that reeses stix were around then.
maybe just cant remember

still the bar none were made more like twix due to the caramel and the cookie like middle.

doesnt matter really there gone

but there was already a bar that was very sucessful doing the same thing and that was called twix.

The original was definitely one bar, but they went through some efforts to boost the brand and turned it into two wafer sticks. The bar was introduced in 1986 as a full sized bar with wafers filled with cream, covered in crushed peanuts and chocolate.

Then in '93 they made it into two bars and put in some caramel.

I don't know when they stopped making them, but I didn't like the reformulated bars at all.

I've been eating the Lu Chocolatiers and find them to have a very good satisfaction quotient. Oh, and oodles of trans fatty acids.

origional bar none was 1 bar i think.
this bar none looks like the new candy bar 2 packs that nabisco have out called choco stix.

i was going to post awhile ago about them.
the chips ahoy one is close to the old bar none but not quite there.

Bar None, made by Hershey, originally featured a cocoa wafer, chocolate filling, peanuts and a milk chocolate coating. They first came out in about 1987, I believe.

Bar Nones were the best! I was a bar none-a-holic. I ws so bummed when they altered and then eliminated them. What-cha-ma-call-its were not dark chocolate and were puffier. Not as good. Maybe we can start a campaign- the "Restore Bar None" campaign.

No that's a Aero Bar- I see them in specialty food stores in New York.

Bar None was Chocolate wafers and cream and peanuts and dark chocolate- they were absolutely addictive- they were great- I miss them too! They changed them not long before they discontinued them- they added unecessary caramel and killed them. THey were great with a cup of coffee. Yum.

That was aerated chocolate, right? I have happily bought aerated chocolate in Europe, Canada, and Argentina, but it seems never to have caught on in the USA. Maybe you can mail-order the Nestle's or Milka brands?
