(mr chips)

Just finished alan Brinkley's biography of John Kennedy in the American Presidents series. These books are about 140 pages with an interesting perspective. Brinkley writes well but is a little wishy- washy and does not really write too much about the sex and health scandals that would have come to light under modern media practices and probably would have brought JFK down. He also writes a lot about the popular perceptions of JFK versus the reality of his accomplishment. A good read.
RE: What are you reading right now? The best part by far was that the book was read by Elliot Gould, who of course played Phillip Marlowe in Robert Altman's version of The Long Goodbye.
Re:What are you reading right now? Kooper tells such great stories. Have you read Mid-Life Confidential? It's written by the members of The Rock Bottom Remainders, a band comprised of authors such including Stephen King, Barbara Kingsolver, Amy Tan, Dave Barry. Dave: "We play music about as well as Metallica writes novels." It's a fun book. Kooper, the band's musical director, wrote a chapter of the book.

Just finished Backstage Passes last night, it is a wonderful book.
