Chicago is one great city. It took us almost 2 hours to get there by driving which isn't really a big deal. From where we live my parents take my children to CHicago on the Amtrak for the day alot! They love it there as well. The food, the people, such diversity in a city it is almost like a different world. I wish we had restaurants like Chicago in our town:( The museum's and the shopping are also quite an experience. For those that like to bar hop, there are alot of cute little bars as well. It was one of the best trips we have ever been on. Hopefully another tour will be scheduled with maybe an extra bus.

The 2005 Roadfood Tour was a winner. I believe a great time was had by all. The food, the fun and the people made it all worthwhile. It was a treat to meet Michael and Jane and have a chance to talk to them. We feel we've known them for 27 years, since our first Roadfood trip to Skinhead's in Paducah, KY for breakfast (sadly closed). Looking forward to the next tour!

An Italian Beef sandwich is shown in picture three. Not served with cheese but most places will add mozzarella if you wish.We don't have Philly Cheesesteaks in Chicago! I was teasing!! sheeeeeeeeesh altough I do sometimes add american cheese to the ones I make

Michael, Todd ate those up fast too! You are lucky to have gotten a pic of those! I saw that cheeseburger and thought of Todd right away, unfortunately he never went in that place since he was talking and schmoozing as well. We do have a bag left of that Yummy popcorn let us know we will send it! Maybe next time we should do a meet and greet first:)

Great photos, Stephen. I thought yesterday was more fun than the law allows. My only regret is that I was so busy shmoozing, catching up with Roadfood team members (we hardly ever see each other) and meeting so many of the really great people who were part of the expedition that I didn't eat nearly enough (that charburger from Wiener's Circle looks especially delicious), and I totally missed out on the Garrett "mix" (Jane ate my bag, and I have her cheese-stained jeans to prove it!) I really look forward to doing this again.

I'll just add a couple of pictures, from Max's, one of the "Ghetto Fries," the other of a menu posted on the wall, from a while ago.

Good luck on getting the hats, I think they only made them for the tour, but maybe there is a private stock? The backs of the hat have the date of the tour on them. It would be nice to be able to purchase shirts though:) Stephen had a list of the people that went on the trip and we all wore name tags but I wonder if he could name all the people in each picture? Some people dont even post here but found out about it while searching.

Jane and Michael---tues--the tenth is my birthday---the only present i want is the news that finally i can buy the cap and tee!...........and Paul is right--captions would be great--but i can see where it could be a big project. Great job with the pics, Todd took some as well, but I think yours are better:) The food was awesome, and it was so much fun! Let us know when to book a flight out to the East Coast for the next one! We will get a tour and a much needed vacation:) Thanks again!

Looked like fun.. that sandwich in pic#3 looked great but seemed to be missing sumthin...hhhmmm..CHEESE wheres the cheese??? Its amazing how close to that sandwich the frozen product at walmart came but I used stripped bell peppers, oinions and jalapeno's, the fries look like a meal in themselves, thats the only draw back I see to a roadtour... saving space for the next stop..

It WAS a fun time. It was great to meet the Sterns after being fans for 20+ years. They are down to earth and a lot of fun. Jane has an especially wicked sense of humor.

Max's was good. The "ghetto" fries with cheese, BBQ sauce, onion, and giardinera were delicious. However, I still prefer Al's on Taylor street or Mr. Beef.

PS: I am the guy in the blue shirt and white hair never facing the camera in pics 14, 16, and 20.
