Yes, it was called a Cool-A-Coo! Two oatmeal cookies with vanilla ice cream and coated with chocolate. They were my favorites in college and when I lived in LA. I just searched this site and this is the one and only reference.

Cool-A-Coos were awesome, much better than the San Francisco version which is still available, the It's It. Coos were bigger and tastier and more pristine. We had direct comparisons every year in college when we drove up to the annual USC game in the Bay Area against Cal or Stanford. My friends and I would sample It's It and laugh at how inferior they were to the great Cool-A-Coo.

Coos were sold in grocery stores in boxes of 3. I'd load up my freezer. They were also sold individually at convenience stores like 7-11 and Arco gas stations. They were best known at Dodger games. I first discovered them at USC basketball games at the Sports Arena, when Ricky the smiling vendor would throw them to you and never miss.

Unfortunately, and unbelievably, Cool-A-Coo went out of business a few years ago.

I'm not much of an ice cream fancier. There's too much cake I've got to eat first. But it's summertime, and I've one big favorite: a real, freshly made waffle ice cream sandwich.

The name of the ice sandwich with the two oatmeal cookies is the Creamy Burger. A friend and I were just seaching the web trying to find them, if you should have any look please let me know.

If you're ever in St. Louis, try the oakmeal cookie sandwich or concrete at Ted Drewes. They're addictive.

It was a Big Wheel. Also came in chocolate and strawberry, and it was a 7-11 exclusive. Sadly, they stopped making them at least 15 years or so ago.

I still moan to my wife that I yearn for one of these, and I'm not even pregnant!

I can't remember the name of this thing for the life of me...
but It was a Round ice cream sandwich... very thick.. had vanilla ice cream in the center of two oatmeal cookies.. and I remember it having
some chocolate on the outside as well.

I use to get them at the local 7-11 down south... in the novelty case.

Anyone remember the name of these things??????????/
