Popeye's = best fast-food fried chicken EVER. Period. For me it's worth the trip to the war zone known as Chamberlayne Avenue in Richmond to go get some.

Copps food stores has some of the best broasted chicken there is. Marys restauraunts also has broaster chicken which is some of the best made. The local Piggly Wiggly also has good fried chicken. I dont have to settle for KFC. We also have a few supper clubs that make excellent broasted chicken.

I agree - supermarkets *can* have good fried chicken. Here in Dayton, the Meier's chain has tasty fried chicken...which isn't oily.

Also, I'm sure quite a few bars lay claim to good chicken, fried or broasted. Joe's Hollywood Lounge in Masury, OH, across the river from the old Sharon Steel mill, has been serving up mean broasted chicken for decades, and at amazingly good prices. A two or three piece dinner with potato wedges, and a Stroh's - man, that's good eatin'. And a pickled egg or pig's foot for dessert.....

I had the broasted chicken at the walmart deli, the mojo type.. dont think they make it up here now, but this was in florida, and that little bird was one of the best.. I took the leftover meat and made chicken salad the next day and that mojo flavored chicken salad was so good..
For 4 bucks, you cant go wrong....

As far as I know.. self cooking is the best way to do if you enjoy it. I enjoyed self cooking and I love chicken biryani from this site.

Hello All,
The best chicken I ate was at a United Methodist church meal. The chef, who I knew and has since died, refused to give his secrets, but I know he had a cheesey cracker in his breading. Local Hardees makes a decent chicken. Deli chicken from supermarkets are good wanna-be-but can't quite make it, at least in the shenandoah valley,va.. Long John Silvers once had a thing called "Peg Legs" which I loved, but they discontinued them, and I hate their chicken planks. Lately, about the only chicken I like,besides Wendy's Hot Chicken sandwich, is what my wife makes and that's because she makes it with various spices and herbs.

It's not who can afford it, it's who can tolerate it.. You must be a youngin... Anyone over lets say 35 tasted the real deal when they had it... Today it's nasty.. Atleast we have a good alternative today by using this websites search function and typing in "Fried Chicken"... More variety and far better quality..

I have a theory that the best fast-food fried chicken today is being served in supermarket delis. Oily, yes, but also pretty tasty. I'd take supermarket chix over KFC any time.

There are some at the rest plazas along the New York State Thruway, although some have been replaced by McDonalds to compete with the Burger Kings.

as far as fast food, Roy Rogers is the best I have had, really cooked good, close to homecooked
