I like the John G with Debris.

But any sandwich with debris from Mother's is fantastic.

Love Mothers. Go there every time I'm in NOLA. Good breakfast too. Great Bloody Mary too.

In theory, debris refers to the bits and pieces of beef that fall into the gravy during the cooking process. It reality, it sometimes receives an assist. Either way is delicious.

In my opinion, probably the best sandwich in New Orleans. We ALWAYS visit Mother's when in NOLA, no matter how long the line .

While in NoLa last April, I managed to get to Mother's twice. First visit tried the Ferdi Special along w/ the red beans & rice. Loved it so much couldn't wait to get back there 2 days later. Although I wanted to try several of their other items, I couldn't resist having another Ferdi.
In QFan's humble opinion it is one of the best sandwich creations on the face of the earth and more than equal to or better than NoLa's other famous po boy creation, the muffaletta. There was a line out the door both visits, but don't let that discourage you because they move 'em through fast. This is a "can't miss" for something truly wonderful!!!

I LOVE the Ferdi at Mothers! Also like the breakfasts - cafe au lait and biscuits with debris.

Has anyone tried the Mothers Restaurant in New Orleans, world famous trademark sandwich, The Ferdie?
I made a special detour while traveling from Florida to Colorado just to get one to go!..
The threat of Katrina, and the possible demise of this long time New Orleans landmark makes me sad!
Oh for some debris from them!
