If you are looking for a great Mongolian Bar-B-Que, try the Pan Asia in Costa Mesa, on 17th and Tustin. It's in the same shopping center as Plums Cafe. I've been going there for at least 20 years, and they are the best. Try their special dumplings, you won't be dissapointed.

The last time we were in BD's they were out of lamb. The manager said they discontinued it due to lack of interest. It's funny since lamb is the main meat eaten in Mongolia. I doubt anyone there has ever seen a shrimp.

You got it. It was BD's. I did a search on the OC Register site and found an old review of BD's. I believe it's now closed.

It may have been Genghis Khan Mongolian BBQ... I know they have numerous locations in SoCal and I believe there's one in Irvine.

If it's BD's Mongolian BBQ, they are part of a chain that started out in Royal Oak, Michigan. I know they have locations here in Bethesda, MD and I've seen locations in Dallas TX at Las Colinas and Grand Rapids, Mich along with Auburn Hills Mich. Decent concept where you select the meat, chicken, grouper, shrimp or combos of all of them along with veggies, sauces and spices you'd like to make your own concoction.

I remember a Mongolian BBQ off the 5 freeway and Jamboree. I believe it was on the south side of Jamboree near a Target or Wal Mart. Is it still there? What was the name?
