Fairfax VA to Outer Banks NC (wxhor)

We will be going from Fairfax to Outer Banks via
95 to Richmond
64 to Nofolk area
168 to Outer banks

There are very few places along this route; has anyone found anything worth looking into?

At the Outer Banks you can go into practically any place and get wonderful seafood, especially Awful Authur. Their shrimp is awesome.
