On tap and unfortunately not in a bottle or can....

My absolute favorite that is currently available is only to be had at:
Del's Charcoal Burgers - Richardson, TX

The smoothest, tastiest root beer I've had in years.

That was Me Mayor! Your old Louisville Buddy Craig...found Towne Club pop, a Michigan discount soda from the 70's...used to be sold at "centers" where you would get a wood crate, and go select your flavors...all in returnable glass bottles. Many "knockoff" flavors (similar to store brands now) 2 different kinds of Cola...cola with "c" for coke, and Kola with a "k" for pepsi...all was about 2 bucks for a 24 bottle case. A bottler in the Detroit area has bought the brand and selling it again...had an orange last week...yummy!

Thanks. If the keg rental wasn't so high I would get kegs of Cherry cola for the holidays... 25 dollars for a half keg contents and a 50 dollar rental fee...Plus no local pick up and delivery for me..
I love the stuff, but will wait for my Baraboo family members to bring me several cases for Christmas.

Hey Mayor,

We are doing a family outing to the Sprecher Brewery tour (and Solly's butter burgers) tomorrow. Unlimited soda samples are provided following the tour. I'll report any seasonal varieties that they offer.

Thanks to whomever brought this thread out of retirement.
Since our post 4 years ago we have refined our tastes for the Sprecher's Soda's...notably the Cherry Cola (from the earlier review) but now add Ravin' Red A Cherry/Cranberry soda with local fruit ingredients. Janet contributes Sprecher's Orange Creme Soda for its retro "Dreamcycle/Popscycle" Frozen treat from our childhood. (not sure of the spelling for the title).
Then add Vernor's, the Michigan based Ginger Ale, and Moxie, the carbonated cough medicine from New England and you now have my list of favorites.

Cheerwine in the glass bottle. Sundrop from the West Jefferson bottling plant in NC, (actually most of the sodas from that bottling plant are fantastic, old fashioned sodas...still made the way they used to be, with sugar). And, lest we forget, Dublin Dr Pepper.

And for some reason, Mountain Dew goes really well with Eastern Carolina 'Cue.

Lindseyup67 you are in luck! I have found TOWNE CLUB pop in West Michigan! It's back...the company who owned the trademark has started bottling it again! I found it a grocery store in Grand Rapids! Its a bev company out of Detroit who has resurrected the brand. Still in glass bottles, but not the old wooden crates or soda centers...Look for it online now...

Last week Anne gave us a 4 pack of SPRECHER's Cherry Cola Soda. It is outstanding ! Made with Honey and "Door County Cherry Juice" It has a great flavor. My daughter loves Cherry Cola, so I ordered a 12 pack of the Sprechers from their website for her. (I also ordered some for us too). She got hers within 24 hours, while ours won't get her til Sept. 30...but we will be waiting !! This is good soda. I love their Root Beer also, but the Cherry Cola really stands out !

I grew up in North Jersey on Peterson's sodas. They had a grape concotion called "Peco Punch" I don't even know if they're still in business...but as a child, it was my favorite soda!!

I've seen Wink in the last year. Where? I can't remember. I do think it was along Route 6 in Northeast Penneyslvania outside of Scranton. It was in a 1 liter bottle.

Once I had a bottle of Skye Lime soda....it was delicious, but I can't find it anywhere.

I love Squirt,when I can find it.It's tart and refreshing. I also like Sundrop, but can't get it where I live now. Buffalo Rock is the absolute BEST ginger ale. It actually tastes like ginger!

Big fan of Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer. I ususally pick up a few 12 packs when I am in NJ/PA. When I dont have it in the house I get the Polar Birch Beer.

I just love those old flavors.
