Thanks to rumaki and plb for their helpful replies. I did call and the number is disconnected. There is a good chance I will drive by the place while in OKC just to see how Sleepy Hollow looks now.

I, too, have very fond memories of Sleepy Hollow. I went there three times when I was in OKC on business, but the last time was in the late 1990s, before it closed the first time.

As far as I know, it has closed, and stayed closed -- again.

Four years later, I am giving this a bump.....

Anyone been to Sleepy Hollow lately? I have fond memories of my one visit over a decade ago. We will be in OKC in a couple of weeks and would love to know if it is worth trying again or it is still getting bad reviews.

They are now open again and are advertising in local tourist publications.

Possible good news for pan-fried chicken fans. I was surprised and disappointed to read that Sleepy Hollow had closed. I haven't eaten there since 2001, but it is a real Roadfood gem of a place. I called the phone number anyway and spoke to a man who said that they are currently working on getting the building "up to code". He hopes to have the place open again in another month to month and a half. Unfortunately, I didn't think at the time to ask more questions, such as will they have the same menu. Can some Roadfoodies in OKC keep an eye open and let us know when they reopen?

To whom it concerns,

Today we were on our weekly trip to Oklahoma City and listening to Lynne Rossetto Kasper's show "The Splendid Table" (which only this evening we discovered was a repeat program from December 11 of 2004). In this program she interviewed the Roadfood people who were telling her about a wonderful restaurant called the Sleepy Hollow in Oklahoma City. Thus later in the day, before we returned home, we went to the neighborhood of the restaurant and inquired as to its location. Upon driving by the Sleepy Hollow restaurant we discovered their sign to read "Closed....For Sale". This was a disappointment, as the restaurant sounded like a real treat.

Please note that we who live in the smaller Oklahoma towns often drive 70 miles or more for a good dining experience, and thus would enjoy any further evaluation by the Roadfood team of any other unique and exciting restaurants that you might discover here in this state. Thank you.
