Or just for a vacation home...
I had a hard time finding a decent paying job, and the COL is very high.
I am not trashing Maine, and I do like it here, and would love to come back in the summertime, just can't afford to live here.

RE: Tara Sold her Home! (roossy90)

I am so dreading packing and moving. Thanks for the tips on renting some muscle. I spoke with a couple of the kitchen guys at work, and they agreed to help also.
It seems like I just finished unpacking..
I have only been here since September, and had things shipped from Florida to Colorado to Maine, and now back south again.
I know the dog isnt looking forward to another road trip, but he is a good little traveler, I must admit. After the first 100 miles, he settles down.
I guess he keeps thinking he is going to the vet or something.

And no, no statues were burned in the selling of this house. LOL
Just faith and prayers, and good timing.
My agent is just as astonished as me.
RE: Tara Sold her Home! After the move that is..
RE: Tara Sold her Home! (Scorereader)

Tara, congrats! Good time to go to SC too. Spring is in swing in SC in March, while winter still clutches onto Maine.

Have a safe move. I don't envy all the work it takes to move. My wife and I have move from NY to NC, from NC to DC and from apt. to house. The last move into our first house last April, I vowed to never move myself again.
BYW, Some Uhaul places offer you the opportunity to hire help for $10 an hour. You get two guys minimum. But once you're packed, these guys can come move the heay stuff for two hours. That's less than a $100 to have the worst of the work done for you. Considering the cost of moving, it might be an option you'll want. Plus, theh cost is wrapped into the cost of the rental. So if someone is paying you to move, or if you can deduct the cost of the move from your taxes, it's a good deal.

either way, I hope the move is safe and your new home is happy.

RE: Tara Sold her Home! (zataar)

Congratulations! You must have buried a statue of St. Joseph in your yard to have sold that quickly.

Tara Sold her Home! (roossy90)

Yeah!!!
For all of my fellow roadfoodies out there, that read my post's and knew I was trying to sell my home here in Maine: Well, I did.
It only took 3 weeks. Not too bad!
I close on February 21st, and should be in South Carolina by March 1st.
Keeping my fingers crossed for an easy move. Now I have to find someone to drive the Uhaul, and help me move my furniture. Thats always fun.
Yucka....packing, ugh...Now the fun partbegins!
