You said you had found some in CT, but I figured I'd throw in my two cents:

Porter's in Westbrook, CT.

Best I've had in southeastern CT by a long shot. They serve a variety of heat levels all the way to up to one they serve a wing at a time. I assume because no one has ever wanted more than one. If I recall correctly they actually serve it on-fire/flaming for a little extra drama.

I am old-time chili-head and wing lover and the mediums and hots are really tasty.

Great sea-side location, friendly staff. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area (US-1 between Westbrook and Clinton).

How upstate NY are you going?
There is Kirstys Red Dog Tavern, in Inlet, NY, in the Adirondacks.
Got the proverbial red dog to greet you at the door.
Eric and Kirsty would be your host's.
The old owner used to sell his hot sauce and have plaques made for who could eat the most hottest wings.

The Hangar in Amherst, Mass has very good wings. It's in the same town as U Mass. They also have a decent beer selection.

I am originally from MA and live in OH now. When I moved here to OH wings were not a very big thing in MA. I go back to MA on average 1-2 times per year and it seems wings are getting more popular there. MA is seafood, brown bread, roastbeef, and ice cream central. It would be interesting to open a Buffalo Wild Wings back home though..would be one of the few things I would take with me from Ohio back to MA.

I need to find some places for good wings in any/all of the New England states. I already found a couple in Ct., and Vt. thanks to this forum, but I still need joints in Eastern and Western mass as well as Maine and New Hampshire.
