It key is to simmer gently for at least an hour. Be sure the whole can stays completely submerged all the time. Let it completely cool in the water. I don't know why it doesn't explode, but it never has.

Butterscotch pie/sweetened condensed milk (Sundancer7)

O'Charley's make a butterscotch pie using sweetened condensed milk that my family truly enjoys. I have no idea how they do it but I have heard that they take a can of sweetened condensed milk and but it in boiling water for a while. That seems a bit dangerous to me but I have also heard of other folks that do it.

Does anyone know the procedure?

Thanks
Paul E.
