Palistinian. Great hummus,Gyro, roast chicken - King of Fallafel - Newtown
Great authenic Greek gyros in Patterson NJ. Shwarmas & beef& lamb gyros.
Best Israeli food in Paterson NJ.
WOW! makes me wanna go on a roadtrip. ;)

aldar bistro in bala cynwyd, pa (just outside of philly). EXCELLENT gyro and the hummus is great, too! everything there is good - haven't ever had a bad meal there!!

pyramids market in norristown, pa...they just started serving prepared food in june - that menu isn't on the site yet (i'll have to remind them that it needs updating). the number is on the site and they can probably fax the menu for the take-out (no sit down there except for outside if the weather is nice).

south street souvlaki, is good, too.

Another place is Jimmy's Doggie Stand 7 Union Square Phillipsburg,NJ.Located at the foot of the free bridge.

Your assessment of No Name was spot on, both in terms of lack of ambiance, and great gyros.
I usually order their gyro platter.
Was at Sultans this week and had their gyro.
A tad better, a little pricier, better atmosphere, and great value

We went to No Name Pizza. A real dump, but a great gyro. Real meat off the spit too. I wan't thrilled with the whole wheat pita, but overall it was great.

Just over the Maryland state line, a few minutes away, is Sultans Grille, just off Elkton Rd
Both offer good gyros, Sultans offers great middle eastern specialties as well
