No Ed, never made it to the Skipper's place. My Mom would have nothing to do with seafood. In fact, my Dad and I had to eat our sardines out in the yard, she wouldn't allow them in her domicile. He let her win that battle, while putting his foot down in the battle over his playing baseball after work in the BofA league. She lost that one. As he used to say, "In marriage, a man has to choose his battles as well as which hill he's gonna die on". Good advice from the old man.

Those little things of ice cream that came with a wooden spoon and there was a gumball at the bottom

The pirate themed TV dinner for children

Burger Queen

Big Red in bottles

Fruit Stripe gum

Those giant chewy sweet tarts

Those drills we had to do in school where the alarm went off and we
had to go out into the hall and crouch down against the wall with our hands over out heads

Burger, fries and a malt at the Wichstand drive in.

Candy bars for a nickle, Hostess cupcakes or fruit pies for 13 cents.

Cork liner under the bottle cap on the glass bottle of soda.

Having to drive all the way from Capistrano to Tustin for McDonalds. (40+ mile round trip)

The first corporate fast food place to hit town, and it had a drive thru! (Jack in the Box).

Back when KFC was actually good food.

TV dinners in aluminum trays.

The amazing, expensive, unattainable RadarRange.

When it was a treat to eat out at a real restaurant
"Jacks hamburgers for 15 cents are so good, good, good, you'll go back, back, back to Jacks', Jacks', Jacks' for more, more, more
Calling someone a "fink" and who could forget "cooties".
The candy counter at Woolworth's not to mention the lunch counter that served the world's best meatloaf and mashed potatoes w/gray.
Thom McCann shoes and Heaven Scent cologne
When we heard the commercial "Take It Off, Take Off, Take It All Off", and thought it very risque
Remember when being able to walk or ride your bicycle anywhere and no one worried about you getting "snatched"
Petal pushers (now called Capri's, Dippity-Do & Sun-In, bobby pins and hair dryers with the hose and hoot that billowed out
Glittered macaroni glued onto paper plates at Vacation Bible School
Lunch boxes with a Thermos...that broke, and going home for lunch from school

And they also had a "frogman" which did the same thing if you put the baking soda/vinegar in his flippers. Frosted Flakes box, I believe.

i'll let you know how old i am..i remember getting a box of kellog's cereal for the free prize..a battleship you put baking soda and vinegar into and the ship would go all around the bathtub.

Well that was fun. I'd forgotten most of that stuff. Boy, some of that stuff was nasty! I vividly remember the taste of that candy lipstick and the Space Food Bars! Somebody even made reference to Flying Saucer candy which was perfectly tasteless. Unless, I missed it nobody mentioned those time candy "pies" that came in a tiny fluted pan with a little spoon.
