I remember Team..I was a weird kid in that I liked a lot of the 'boring' cereals as well. Remember 40% bran flakes? As a kid I called them just 'forties'. Wonder what the other 60% is? Now they are just Bran flakes. Let's see..Donutz..small, powdered donuts that were "cereal". Dunkin Donuts..had both glazed and chocolate varieties..Ice Cream Cones..my sister loved that. Corn Bran..mmmm..haven't seen that in a good 8 years. Oh heck I can go on forever with this one!

Hey,I saw frankenberry,Count Chocula and BooBerry at the Walmart here in Schertz.I guess Post or kellogs brought them back for Halloween. I have seen Quisp,the cereal with the alien on it at the SuperTarget on Loop1604 and Blanco Road in San Antonio.
Annpeeples,you can find Wolf Brand Chili all over this part of Texas with no problem.
Wish Kool_aid would bring back their Rootbeer mix they had back in the 1970s and 80s,which they later dropped.Keebler's made back in the 1980s some flour tortilla chips which were good,but quit making.
As far as cereals go,there are still some that are being made,but might only be sold in local regions . Just saw at Walmart and H.E.B.Grocerystore a new Kellog's one called La Lecheria,which has a milkmaid on the box and I assume in spanish refers to the fact it has lots of milk in it.See alot of that in this area due to the high hispanic population.Whether one could find it in say Chicago or DeMoines is another matter.

Quisp story of the year:

We have a supermarket in town that is based in NEPA - Redner's Warehouse Markets. They are a low-ball operation that is one of those that claims that it is 'employee owned'. They are actually real good, have dirt cheap prices -without the intrusion of a 'card'! A few weeks ago, they had in their flier hidden away in a corner, the following special: QUISP..at 2/$5! Naturally. I RAN down there the first chance I got. Getting there, I literally searched inever cor ner of the store - no Quisp! I was p**ssed! I literally ran home, and got right online and wrote a nasty, nasty email -one of those that is supposedly 'to the president', blah, blah...WELL - not more than an hour later I got a phone call from the local store mananger - he was VERY apologetic, and said it was a vendor problem, they would take care of it, and that I should have a couple of boxes very soon, etc, etc..

Flash forward a couple of weeks - I had sort of semi forgotten about the whole thing, when Tom the store manager called again - my Quisp was in!! I ran back down there, and stopped at the service desk, thinking they had just imported a couple of boxes for me. Instead, they girl directs me to the end of one aisle where...THEY HAD A WHOLE DAMN DISPLAY OF THE STUFF!! Cool Quaker display case and all (wis now I had brought a camera!). I immediately bought three boxes!

"and Twinkles only smiled.." sigh yep the good old days,, which explains having 6 abcessed teeth pulled in first grade..

When my kids were little I taught them that they could have any cereal they wanted as long as the number was below 13 (I think) which pretty much meant Cheerios.. I used to explain there was "growing food, and garbage food, and I wanted them to eat growing food because I loved them." One day we were in the cereal aisle and my 6 year old watched in horror as a woman threw several boxes of highly sweetened cereal into her cart.. With the piercing voice of only a 6 year old, Elisabeth plaintively said.."Oh Mommy doesnt that woman love her children?? shes giving them GARBAGE cereal!!"

I wanted the floor to swallow me up..

But Here I am 25 years later giving the kids cheerios, and Life cereal.

I remember TEAM Flakes. (RICE WHEAT CORN OATS) That was the best cereal ever made. I miss them. Why is it that a healthy, great tasting cereal is no longer around but stuff like special K that taste like cardboard is? My mom gave me coupons for Team Flakes and I save them because I remember growing up on them and that they tasted great and didnt realize that that was a HEALTH Cereal and I loved them. REMEMBER on the back of the box how it spelled TEAM and in each letter it had a picture of Rice in the T , Wheat in the E , Corn in the A , and Oats in the M in that Orange Box?

I also remember Country Corn Flakes and that I liked them better than Kellogg's...they stayed crispier in milk. As I recall, that was because they had a bit of rice mixed in with the corn. A good product that didn't catch on.

Does anyone know if Kellogg's has discontinued its Cinnamon Krunchers cereal? They are SOOOOOO good but suddenly I can't find them anywhere. similar to Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but better and more sugarier.

CINNAMON KRUNCHERS (it stayed Cinnamony and Crunchy in Milk).
French Toast Crunch.

General Mills also had a Corn Flakes.

Not a childhood memory , but I really liked graham chex and they quit making it.

It's odd - I only remember Rice Krispies, probably the most nutrient-empty cereal. Snap/Crackle/Pop My mom made Cream of Wheat with lots of butter and something else, Maypo?

I'm trying to remember the name of a rice cereal the Kellogs made in the early 90's. I know the marketing had a Japan angle. Anyway the regular was in a red box and the one with raisins was in a purple box.

Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Cereals, which were introduced in the 1980s. I liked the whole grain corn flakes. Now all you find in that line are the cereal bars.

They haven't discontinued these...Frankenberry, Boo Berry, and Count Chocula are in every grocery store I've been to. And always has been. I've been buying it for 30 years. The only ones they discontinued were the others, like Fruity Yummy Mummy.
Once in a while you can still find Quisp. I love it!

Hey Robearjr..I guess I could do that..although I was at Walmart a few days ago and I saw something called Smores cereal but it didn't look like it had the golden grahams type "flakes" if you want to call them that..I am a bit intrigued but I don't know if I'll actually try it.

I do remember that Smores cereal. I'm wondering if you could just make your own. I figure you could toss in some chocolate bits and mini marshmallows with Golden Grams. I assume they still make Golden Grams.

Here is another one that I don't think is discontinued but is sometimes hard to find...at least in my experience. Oh's! They are similar to Cheerios in the way they look but they are filled with tiny honey clusters in the center...I like to eat them as snacks! I'm SOOO GLAD someone mentioned Smurf Cereal!!! I LOVED that stuff...the only thing that ever came even remotely close to that sugary goodness was berry berry kix...and even that was a long shot! What I wouldn't give to have another bowl of that little slice of cereal heaven!

Rember Kellogg's OK's cereal with Yogi Bear on the cover. He uses to say "the oe with the bear on the cover and suitable for framing".
