Spicy (raw) tuna, followed by the one with flying fish roe flavored with wasabi. I like the raw salmon one too.

I like eating a few small plates and mixing the sauces. The servers always enjoy giving helpfull ideas. Endless combinations!

A friends fav dish was a bowl of salmon eggs with quail eggs cracked on top.

Sounds kind of like Kosher sushi. The only sushi I haven't really cared for are the fake fish rolls at Costco. They use that white fish that's made with some kind of crab flavoring. Stop and Shop in this area has sushi made on site. Not anything too adventuresome but good in a pinch when you don't have time to find a real sushi bar. Fred

Some of the sport fishing boat captains on the Outer Banks in North Carolina talk about their Japanese charter parties -- when they reel in the first tuna, out will come the knife, wasabe and soy, for sashimi to be enjoyed right out of the water.

I love anything with unagi! Here in W'burg (Virginia) we have a place that does a roll with smoked salmon, cream cheese, (like a philly roll) and adds unagi to it to make a "Williamsburg Roll." I like trying the "special" rolls that each bar will come up with. Like calamari roll or fried lobster roll.
I like the spider rolls, tuna rolls, salmon nigiri, tamago (egg) too.

I may have to go for sushi after work!

I generally enjoy maguro,uni,scallop, squid, butterfish, and salmon sashimi.
There aren't too many combinations I don't like for sushi- I don't care for california rolls made with crab flavored pollock,also don't like cooked items particularly nor do I like cream cheese added into my rolls.

One of my favorite passages from a book I've read this year comes from one of Ruth Reichl's memoirs, Garlic and Sapphires (I think, I read them all back to back so it's hard to be sure). It's the chapter where she introduces a very old friend, one who had vowed never to consume raw fish, to the joys of great Japanese food. The friend of course loves it.

Then there's the chapter of Bourdain's A Cook's Tour where he decides that love is eating fresh raw tuna at 4 in the morning. So true.

My first answer falls into the food kick topic. I tell the chef that when I walk in, they can start making this incredible fried soft shell crab roll. It is very large and impressive, using the whole crab. I love BBQ eel, octopus, tuna(raw and spicy), shrimp and even now I am blanking on other favorites. I tell the server to keep the menu on the table so I can peruse it to find different combination rolls.
They have a special board over the chef and I will try at least some of them too.
What I miss and cannot find is futomaki. My memories of it are kind of vague, but if I recall, it includes some kind of turnip along with egg and more.
