I loved that place. We used to sit outside in the grass, eat our fabulous little hamburgers and smoke cigarettes. Real rebels, weren't we? Graduated in '70 and picked up by the draft and off to Southeast Asia for a while. I liked the hamburgers and cigarettes better.
RE: Prince Castle (carolina bob)

I sure do remember Prince Castle hamburger shops. When I was a kid and we lived in Chicago, I was unaware of them. After we moved to the south suburbs in 1968, though, I started seeing them all over. The one on 162nd St. in Harvey is still standing, but I'm not sure if it's currently occupied or not. I only ate at Prince Castle one time. I never went back because I didn't care much for the burger, but I was impressed by the french fries. I also remember Cock Robin very well. My first apartment, back in 1975, was in Franklin Park, and there was a CR not too far away ( can't remember where exactly. ) I ate there a number of times, and thought that they had a very good burger.
RE: Prince Castle (azure)

in Chicago Heights, the best chocolate banana milk shakes EVER!

RE: Prince Castle (Whitacreruss)

I always remember this was fast food before McD's - a couple of steakburgers and a One-In-A-Million and as a kid it couldn't get much better that that.
