The Inaugural BBQ begins at 4pm EST (slow-time) at the Moonlite BBQ and Inn in Owensboro KY. So far I have received only one RSVP...from Mr and Mrs BUSHIE ( that's good cuz he's buying!!)
We will be back from our sojourn around Northern Missouri on Sunday. So if you have any questions please ask Meowzark or Stephen.

I'm interested in being a moderator due to my experience, having traveled extensively all over the world. Being professionaly involved in all aspects of the food industry, wearing many hat's. Being objective to every post while moderating, As I haven't posted much on this board, have lurked and enjoyed evolvement of site. I can only suggest if anyone is interested in my approach towards Board involvement the easiest way to learn about me is thru searching my posting on the "Chowhound" board sites, primarily the Northwest Board, General Topics Board and Non Foods Boards. I haven't previously been interested in becoming involved with any food site as I have been a "Trouble Shooting Consultant", confidentialy involved in the Hotel, Restaurant, Bakery business. However as i've just retired i'm able to spare the time and enjoy the opportunity to act as a objective, experienced, capable moderator. Since this board has posting from all over the USA, there is a good chance that i've been there, ate that since I spent over one year on the road, Lost in America driving almost 20,000 miles, eating every where with the Sterns Road Food books in our glove compartment. Meowzart from the East Coast, The Mayor from the west, both ultra-qualified (and both actually interested in the position!) How can we go wrong? You have my votes!

(If, at some point, we need to add another moderator, how about tossing your hat into the ring, Sundancer7? It will add representation for the rest of us slobs in the middle of the country!)

Though not much of a Yankees fan, I will cast my stones for the "M&M Boys" (Mayor and Meow). Also, Mr Paul Smith would make an excellent moderator and if he were elected, I would be equally pleased.

I would like to nominate Sundancer 7 (aka Paul E. Smith) who on the basis of a double cheeseburger's worth of postings has clearly established himself (along with the Mayor) as the most highly qualified and worthy of potential candidates.

Wow. This comes as a complete, and very pleasant, surprise. Meozart is correct; due to the amount of projects I need to complete before leaving on my trip, I had intended to curtail ALL my "net surfin' ", including posts to Roadfood, for a brief period of time. Mr. Mayor informed me this morning that a vote was taking place, and after seeing my name as a "write-in", I had to give this some thought.

While I am more than willing to help out in any way I can, I think it would be best to elect someone who has expressed a real desire in the position. I could handle it, and it would be fun, but maybe it's something we could consider for the future.

Therefore, let this serve as a formal "bowing out". However, please realize that I TRULY appreciate the thoughts and confidence expressed above.

CheeseWit had previously expressed a desire to be moderator, and I believe he would be excellent. If he were to throw his hat in again, it would make my choice tougher.

For now, my vote goes to The Mayor and Meowzart. Has kind of a nice ring to it, anyway.

Mr. Mayor and Meowzart get my vote! I have not only enjoyed their posts but find them informative and well thought-out. I think they will be great additions to the moderator team.
