The bun must be slathered on the inside with "grill juice" and lightly grilled. And we don't say cheesesteaks" we say "hoagies". Meatball and Italian Sausage hoagies are done similarly. HOWEVER, we also have a place called "Jersey Subs" that does more of an authentic Philly style cheesesteak and offers either Cheez Whiz or Provolone. They are quite good also, sans the use of the Oliverio peppers, but not as delightfully sloppy.

RE: Today's poll: cheese on cheesesteaks (TwoJays)

quote:

Gimme one whiz-wit!

Whiz-wit indeed!

Provolone or American will always do, but Whiz is always my first choice.

John

RE: Today's poll: cheese on cheesesteaks (CajunKing)

One Wit puhleeeeeeeeeeze

RE: Today's poll: cheese on cheesesteaks (tiki)

quote:

quote:

A new selection needs to be added for Massachusetts politicians: swiss cheese.

I voted provolone, BTW.

With that particular group from Mass, I was expecting the cheese of choice to be brie.
