(buffetbuster)

I just had terrific sweet potato fries on Sunday at Flanders Fish Market & Restaurant in East Lyme, CT. They are handcut and are the very thin shoestring style and had lots of yammy flavor. I went with a spritz on vinegar on top and they were just about perfect!

RE: Sweet Potato Fries? (UrbanSpaceman)

I actually just tried these about a week ago and was VERY impressed. I'm not usually a fri-fan, but the order I had at my local diner were very light and flavorful; I'd certainly order them again. Also, they came with a dijonaise-style sauce... had kind of a mesquite flavor to it. Of course, I've no idea if that kind (or any kind) of dipping sauce is usually served with sweet potato fries, but it works for me.

RE: Sweet Potato Fries? (buffetbuster)

I just had some really good sweet potato fries over the weekend at Louie's Foot Long Hot Dog's near Buffalo. The were cut very thick, which I'm not used to. I usually see sweet potato fries cut shoe-string style. But the flavor was excellent. The only thing I didn't like was that there was about 3/4" inch pool of what I assume was grease at the bottom of the paper container.

RE: Sweet Potato Fries? (Catalase)

There was a BBQ near Tulane in NO that did really excellent sweet potato fries... shoestring style, as one poster above described. They were served just with a dashing of salt.

The Hill Diner up here also does "sweet potato fries", and they are also delicious, but they're nothing like the kind I had had before; they're extremely creamy inside with a stout outer coating of batter, like a sweet potato cheesestick. I have no idea how they do it, but I wish I did. Those are served with whipped cream, but I like them better with the ranch dressing I steal from Spouse's fried okra.

RE: Sweet Potato Fries?
