This time I opted for just a bit of Sierra Nevada stout mustard and a couple of thin slices of Tillamook cheddar on a bun. Still a few slices left in the refrigerator, maybe this time I'll go for the Stubb's barbeque sauce. In any case, sliced thin, but not too thin. Lunch is calling, gotta go. (not raisin, but just about any other kind) But it MUST be my Mom's meatloaf. She uses beef and pork, onion soup mix, oats, worchestershire, Nature's Seasons, eggs to bind, and I think that's about it. No tomatoes, peppers, sugar, etc. although I'll eat hot meatloaf with these ingredients.

RE: Cold Meatloaf Sandwiches (Rustywolf)

With ketchup and lettuce on a Kaiser roll works for me.

RE: Cold Meatloaf Sandwiches (Frankman)

quote:

Hi my roadfood friends. Let's hear what you like on your left over meatloaf sandwiches or even what you put in your meatloaf. I like my meatloaf with bacon and ketchup on top when baking. For left over cold sandwiches I like mayo or miracle whip.

Well blueheaven,
Cold meatloaf is great with anything. For instance, roasted red pepper, lettuce and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Or kraut and mustard. Or with a dollop of cold mashed. Sometimes I'll put a slice of salami or ham on it. Amost any kind of cheese will work too. As far as condiments goes just keep a variety in the fridge, and try out new choices. When the garden is full theres no telling what will end up on it. Be creative. There are a gazillion ways to make a meatloaf sandwich. Try not to make it the same way twice.

RE: Cold Meatloaf Sandwiches (lynndunham)

Meatloaf sliced about 1/2" thick and fried until the outside is crispy. This meatloaf, in my opinion is the best!

The next day it still retained a pate texture. Pure heaven for a sandwich. Rich, moist, and alive with flavor.

I did substitute turkey for veal. Next time the bacon will be cooked before adding. It did not crisp up.

Ketchup, mayo, honey mustard, a thick slab of cold meatloaf on Dave's Killer Bread. One of my favorite meals ever.

RE: Cold Meatloaf Sandwiches (Earl of Sandwich)

Some of the best meatloaf sandwiches I ever tasted came from a neighborhod tavern in Milwaukee called Karlovich's.
