Thinking back, yes, lots if these places I know in the NY area have German names: Jentz, Jahn's Hirsch's, Hicks', Holstein's, Greatner's.   &lt;br&gt;  &lt;br&gt; Now, I don't remember many ice cream parlors in my trips to current day Germany, but I wonder if this is true.
