Texas are different fillings stuffed in a bread type dough.

poppyeed is also my favorite Kolacky

RE: Best Kolache in Texas, Its now official (mayor al)

Yeah, Sounds like a winner to me. I must ask my Czech cousin in Prague if he likes the Jalopena' Pig Kolache!!?? I tried a couple of the Jalopena Cheese version at Greens Meat market last winter and really liked them!

I too thought that all Kolache were fruit-filled or cream-cheese . It wasn't til we visited the Tex-Czechs that we discovered the sausage and pepper versions. I am not sure of the European Czechs do meat kolache???
RE: Best Kolache in Texas, Its now official (ChiTownDiner)

Grew up on and love kolache...but all of ours were sweet. My favorite - poppyseed followed by rasberry.

RE: Best Kolache in Texas, Its now official (divefl)

Congrats to Debbie Debbie.

Best Kolache in Texas, Its now official (Texianjoe)

The kolache festival in Caldwell picked its blue ribbon winner.

http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=local&id=5662943

joe
