It has similarities to it's neighbors Vietnam and Thailand, but nothing exact. It's got you meat on a stick, big soups and stews. Traditional means lots of rice and seafood, but you never know what you'll get in an american restaurant.

RE: Burmese Food (divefl)

It's good stuff, I highly recommend. I've eaten there once or twice, but it's been a while. I can't remember what I had. Here is a link to a menu for that restaurant if you're interested:

http://philadelphia.menupages.com/screenmenu.asp?restaurantId=30363&htmllink=BAE8F0A511BBE9FBAAD8D592CBF43ECBBF036B7D8E846526407F8DE3FDB3A55C17DD1023265DAF52&taglineid=0

Burmese Food (syrup)

With all the tension going on in Burma (Myanmar) these days I'm curious about Burmese food? Has anyone heard of or been to a Burmese restaraunt? I read about one in a New York Eatery guide a few years ago but that about all I heard of their cusine. I wonder is their food like Thai or East Indian?
