But yes, these are Mission style with rice and the kitchen sink rolled in.

Anna's makes tacos, too, without rice and beans, with choices including al pastor and carnitas.

Bill - I said burrito.

Carnitas are awesome - even standard issue Mexican places can do these pretty well. They are the best in a soft taco/burrito. Plus they don't get all runny on you when you try to eat them like ground meat does.

It's funny that this comes up now. I've been to Anna's Taqueria in Brookline a couple of times recently (typically it's more like a couple of times a year) so instead of getting the steak super burrito I got carnitas for the the first time in years. It came with cheese, red beans, rice, salsa, green hot sauce and sour cream.

I'd forgotten how tasty that roast pork is and how well it holds up to the rest of the ingredients.

Carnitas...Roasted and sometimes Deep-Fried Pork is my favorite Taco Filling. Great stuff. I think thats why I identified so quickly with the chewy "Bark" of Whole-Hog BBQ when I moved East.. They are great in Burritos also!
Many of the SoCal Mexican food stands I used to visit served chunks of Carnitas a couple of inches square (cube?) for $5 or $6 a lb. (for take-home use)

It's been a good 7 years since I've had a decent pork taco.. Some hole in the wall place around the corner from the party store I worked at during the winter.. Couldn't even tell ya the name, even back then, but it was pretty darn tasty (Though they did have a chicken on the roof back then)! Time to go investigate this place again (with camera in hand)...

Went to one of our favorite mexican restaurant tonight for dinner. I ordered my taco and enchilada with pork for a change. Wow was it good. Never tried it before. I'll get it that way for now on. Good stuff!
