(mr chips)

Thanks to a marvelous review in the Oregonian, the Chips family has been spending a lot of time in an East Portland Mexican grocery-deli called La Tortilleria y Tienda de Leon. It ia a bakey with excellent Mexican pastries as well as American style doughnuts and cakes. The grocery features many mexican products(especially sodas) but the real attraction to a roadfooder is the deli. Daily fresh tamales, rellenos, fried chicken, fresh tortillas and chips, salsa of varying degrees of heat. Going there is like going to a market in Mexico. Great food and a great cultural experience.
